| Objective
- To impart the comprehensive knowledge of genetics
in a short period with customized practical options
to suit individual requirements.
Course Structure -
Six month (four month theoretical training + two month
focused practical training). Theory includes Basic genetics,
Cytogenetics, Molecular G enetics,
Metabolic Genetics, Clinical Genetics and Genetic Counselling.
During the practical module the participants will get
hands-on experience of performing various skill based
procedures in the area of their choice. Any one Practical
module can be chosen from the following :
a. Cytogenetics
b. Single gene disorders : includes molecular genetics
and metabolic genetics
c. Cinical genetics
Extra practical module of two months duration each
can be availed for an additional fee.
Duration - 6 months
Part time, Monday to Friday, 5 pm to 8 pm [Weekend batches
(Sat and Sun only) can be considered if a minimum of
10 participants enroll]
Eligibility - Minimum
eligibility criterion is a bachelor's degree in any
field of science.
